The new exhibition by Joanne Coates, recipient of the Vasseur Baltic Artist Award, focuses on rural life.
A photographer who grew up in rural North Yorkshire, she favours themes such as class, inequality, rural life and community cohesion.
This new exhibition takes over Level 2 at BALTIC and showcases the results of Jo’s comparison of rural life in areas of Scotland and England. In both locations, she focused on young women who lived there.
